Career
Highlights
In the year 2000, I came in 3rd at the Quebec Provincials, and
3rd at World Qualifier in Quebec City. This year however was
my best year. I was at my best and hence came in 3rd at the
North Americans. A few weeks later I competed in Vancouver for
Femsport where I came in 1st in the physique round and 3rd overall.
From the look of things, 3 seems to be a good number for me.
But watch out, I am planning to break through 3rd next year
at the Canada's in May.
Why
did you become interested in fitness?
As a retired gymnasts, I was getting bored training without
having specific goals. I was doing various hip-hop dance shows
but that wasn't enough. When I saw pictures of the pros in magazines,
I was inspired. I wanted to see if I had what it takes to achieve
that level of fitness. It was a challenge and it remains a challenge
'til this dance. I have no intention of quitting until I at
least reach the pro ranks.
When
did you first start working out?
As a kid, I was always really athletic. Gymnastics was my main
thing but I also canoed in a crew team and did aerobics to stay
in shape throughout my first degree. I started training with
weight in 1998, when I decided I wanted to compete in Fitness.
Wow did I see my body transform.
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I like to bike, hike, I walk every where (seeing as I don't
have a car). I also take various dance lessons and my next "thing"
will be Ashtang yoga. I think this will help me greatly for
my power moves in my fitness routine.
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
I want to become pro. This is my immediate goal along with becoming
a fitness model. Being part of a calendar and having a picture
in flex magazine have always been a dream. I also want to grow
as personal trainer and nutrition consultant so that I can eventually
work for myself. There is still a lot out there for me to learn.
